HQhair would like to introduce to you…..NARS Summer 12 Collection

Created by the founder & creative director Francois Nars, Francois continues to build into each and every collection his passions and interests, showing no boundaries. Each and every item of the collection represent Francois’ various pursuits and interests, each item having an emotional attachment to places, people, experiences that have shaped his life.

NARS Summer 12 Collection Model Image

The NARS Summer collection is one of his best yet, bringing with it a cocktail of warm earth tones and brazen shimmers. Eyes glisten in icy peach and matte apricot, or shine in iridescent orchid and blue. Lips are subtle in a glossy nude beige pink, or bold in matte strawberry red. A delicate seashell pinks lends nails a flattering hue for an overall look that’s sizzling, sophisticated and – like so many summery moments – simply unforgettable.

NARS Summer 12 Full Collection Colours

The collection contains 9 new colours – one new nail polish – Trouville, three lip pencils – Bueno’s Aires, Never Say Never, Calabria Soft Touch Shadow Pencil, two lipsticks – Moscow Pure Matte, Vendanges, one blush – Liberté and finally two eye shadow’s – Ramatuelle Trio  (limited edition), Marie-Galante Duo Eyeshadow.

We just love the Trouville nail polish – a gorgeous shade of pink, perfect for this spring/summers pastel trend. Francois based this name on a region in the Basse-Normandie within north-western France that is filled with beautiful beaches and picturesque boardwalk. Another great thing about this nail polish is that it is doesn’t fade over time and doesn’t chip – always good to hear..!

The buyer’s favourite from this collection is the Ramatuelle Trio eyeshadow. Named after a village in the Provence-Alpes-Cóte d’Azur within the south-eastern of France, this gorgeous eyeshadow combines two shimmers – silver and icy peach – with a matte apricot for an unexpected warm-cool take an a neutral palette. Each colour and be used individually for a subtle look or combined for a unique, refined look.

NEWS JUST IN: Urban Decay ‘build your own’ palette…!

Did you absolutely love the Urban Decay Naked Palette and Naked Palette 2? Then you are going to just love what we are about to tell you! HQhair are pleased to announce that the next big Urban Decay palette is only around the corner.

On the 1st May 2012 a new generation of palette is revealed, simply named Urban Decay ‘build your own palette’! Not only does this new palette have all the same, maybe even better qualities than both the Naked Palette and Naked Palette 2 combined but the ‘build your own palette’ is doing something unheard off, it is allowing you to release your creative flair and make your very own palette filled with the colours that you want and need in your life.

With the purchase of this gorgeous palette you will receive an eyeshadow brush, the palette which is fitted with a full sized mirror within the lid and one eyeshadow ‘Walk of Shame’, all for a bargain £14!

Urban Decay Build Your Own PaletteNow this is the clever bit, to build your own palette you simply choose your additional favourite 1-5 eyeshadow colours and await their arrival – you have the choice of 68 colours so there will definitely be a colour out there for you.

These new eye shadows represent the creation of the new Urban Decay eye shadow, replacing the new eye shadows with a new and improved formula that allows a longer wear time and a more even coverage. The range covers five different finishes which ranges from satin, shimmer, sparkle, duochrome and finally matte.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Colours*£14 per eyeshadow

When you receive your eye shadows now it’s time to build. Slowly press the whole eyeshadow including the case into one of the spaces in your palette and you’re done..! Do the same with the next 4 colours and you have your very own unique palette. When you use all of these colours or simply fancy a change pop the colours out of the palette and replace with your new favourite – it’s that simple.

But the real question is – what colours are you going to go for?!? It’s time to build.

Spring Make-up Trends

It’s officially the first day of spring! Already catwalks and runways world-wide have set the trends for the most fabulous of season. Take a look at our collection of make-up that’s perfect for this season’s trends – http://www.hqhair.com/home/spring-make-up.list

Chanel

Dolce & Gabbana

Christian Dior

Make-up artists this spring played with a mix of old and new styles. Gorgeous rouge lip colours made their grand re-entrance. Lipsticks’ most iconic colour was re-invented, proving there are endless ways to wear a dramatic red. As seen on Christian Dior, Donna Karen, Jason Wu, and Nicole Farhi as well as many more.

The attention is almost all on the eyes this season, with the all familiar flick of eyeliner back, but who said it couldn’t be spiced up a little? Dramatic flicks, double layered lines, squared off ends and pops of colour have all been spotted on the runways.  Extremely smoky eyes and the use of white/silver metallic’s sparked up the eyes and brows.

Recalling sixties icon Liz Taylor, ‘Power Brows’ have dominated this season. The best examples are those featured in Derek Lam, Burberry Prorsum & Jil Sander where they are darkened with pigments, brushed up and shaped into a dramatic arch.

Futuristic glittery eyes stormed the catwalks, with make-up artists striking just the right balance between totally eccentric and daring chic.

The main message this season: Pair vintage with modern to make a statement that’s unique and all your own.

What do you know, it’s OPI!

This is the beautiful new Chanel Le Vernis Frenzy Nail Polish, an absolutely adorable pale creamy taupe. At first glance though you could mistake it for a polish closer to home and certainly friendlier to our poor purses!

OPI’s very own ‘Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh Nail Polish’ looks almost the same as Chanel’s Frenzy Polish. Perhaps the Chanel is a shade paler, and the OPI on the warm toned side. But other than that, there is very little difference!

Comparing the Naked Palettes

Recently we’ve seen the launch of the Naked 2 Palette! Everyone went wild when this makeup marvel was announced, and with good reason too!

I absolutely adored the shades in the Naked 2 Palette, my favourites were; Verve a gorgeous pale metallic pink/grey, Busted a lovely dark brown with hints of plum, and Suspect a light satin taupe

But the question everyone wants to know is – which palette is THE ONE?

I’m firmly backing the Naked 2! The packaging is much better than the original, more modern and certainly more stylish. I prefer the Double Ended Good Karma Brush that’s included and the mirror is larger – Easier to apply make-up while on the go!

Naked 1, however, included a travel size Eye Shadow Primer Potion, which I think is better than the Lip Junkie Gloss in the Naked 2. There are also a few favourite shades in the Naked 1 that I wish had been included in the new palette; Sin, Dark Horse and Toasted!

But that’s just my opinion. What I really want to know is which one you love!!
